Leo Is Broadcasting a Version of Your Story That Leaves You Out
Leo recently told a story in a group setting, maybe at dinner or in a crowded group chat, where you played a supporting role in an event you actually initiated. At first, it sounded like a minor exaggeration, the kind of conversational editing people do to keep an anecdote moving. But then you realized they had completely repositioned the timeline. The idea you pitched became their spontaneous inspiration. The network connection you provided was framed as their natural charisma drawing people in. They did not do this to hurt you maliciously. They did it because the narrative felt better with them at the center, and they assumed you would not care enough to correct the record publicly. That assumption is the actual betrayal. They looked at your preference for staying out of the spotlight and mistook it for permission to steal yours.
This matters today because Leo’s revised version of events is starting to influence how other people treat you professionally and socially. When someone consistently frames you as the helpful sidekick rather than the architect, opportunities quietly redirect themselves toward the person telling the story. You have always preferred your work to speak for itself, relying on original ideas rather than self-promotion. But silence in the face of someone else’s loud revisionism is not dignity. It is erasure. Leo feeds on admiration, and right now, they are using your intellectual contributions as fuel for their reputation. You do not need to start a public argument or match their volume to fix this. You do need to stop feeding them raw material. Stop sharing unfinished concepts with them. Stop letting them into the early stages of your projects where the origin story is still soft enough to be rewritten. Protect the blueprint before they claim they drew it.
